Getting Started - Vietnamese Lifestyles: Then and Now
11. Listen and Read
Dialogue: Life in the past and today
Linh: Grandma, looking at this old photo, did you use to live in an extended family?
Grandma: Yes, Linh. Three generations lived under one thatched roof. We enjoyed cooking together and sharing daily stories.
Linh: Wow! How did people travel back then? Did you have electric buses like today?
Grandma: No, dear. Most people rode bicycles or walked. Some people in Hanoi preferred riding the electric tram. We didn't expect life to change so fast!
Linh: Nowadays, many families plan to live in nuclear family apartments. But we still try to preserve our traditional family values!
Grandma: That makes me so happy to hear, Linh.
