Useful expressions for sharing experiences:

Asking about experiences:

  • Have you ever been to...?
  • Have you ever tried...?
  • What was it like?
  • How was your trip to...?
  • What did you think of...?

Sharing experiences:

  • I have been to... It was amazing!
  • I have never tried... but I'd love to.
  • I have just come back from...
  • It was an unforgettable experience.
  • I really enjoyed... because...

Practice: Work in pairs. Ask and answer about experiences.

Student A: Have you ever been to a foreign country?

Student B: Yes, I have. I have been to Thailand.

Student A: What did you do there?

Student B: I visited temples, tried local food, and went shopping at the night market.

Student A: Have you ever tried Thai food?

Student B: Yes, I have! I have eaten Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai. They were delicious!

Student A: That sounds wonderful! I have never been to Thailand, but I'd love to go.
