CITY PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Big cities around the world face many problems. One of the most serious is traffic congestion. Every day, millions of people travel to work, causing long traffic jams. This wastes time and increases air pollution.
To solve this, many cities have improved their public transport systems. London has a famous underground train system called the Tube. Tokyo has one of the most efficient train networks in the world. People are encouraged to leave their cars at home and use public transport. The more people use public transport, the less pollution there is.
Another problem is waste management. Big cities produce thousands of tons of rubbish every day. If waste is not handled properly, it causes pollution and health problems. Many cities have started recycling programmes. In San Francisco, residents sort their rubbish into different bins for recycling, composting, and landfill. The city has successfully reduced waste by 80%.
Noise pollution is also a concern. Construction, traffic, and industrial activities create constant noise. Cities like Vienna have built noise barriers along highways and planted trees to absorb sound.

- Solution: Suggest 2-3 solutions
- Result: What will happen if we apply these solutions
Useful language:

Sample:
Our group chose traffic congestion. The more people own cars, the worse traffic becomes. One solution is to improve public transport. We should build more metro lines and bus routes. The more convenient public transport is, the fewer people will drive cars. Another solution is to encourage cycling by building more bike lanes. If we do these things, our city will have less pollution and fewer traffic jams.
