Asking for directions (Hỏi đường):
- Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to...? — Xin lỗi, bạn có thể chỉ tôi đường đến...?
- Excuse me, where is the...? — Xin lỗi, ... ở đâu?
- Is there a... near here? — Có ... gần đây không?
- How far is it from here? — Cách đây bao xa?
Giving directions (Chỉ đường):
- Go straight ahead. — Đi thẳng.
- Turn left / right. — Rẽ trái / phải.
- Take the first / second street on the left / right. — Rẽ ở đường thứ nhất / hai bên trái / phải.
- It's opposite / next to / between... — Nó đối diện / bên cạnh / giữa...
- You can take bus number... — Bạn có thể đi xe buýt số...
22. Practice: Pair work
Situation 1: You want to find a supermarket.
You: Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the nearest supermarket?
Passerby: Sure. Go straight ahead, then turn left. It's opposite the park.
Situation 2: You want to know how far the bus station is.
You: How far is it from here to the bus station?
Passerby: It's about one kilometre. You can walk there in ten minutes.
Situation 3: You want to ask about the metro.
You: Is there a metro station near here?
Passerby: Yes, the nearest one is on Nguyen Hue Street, about 500 metres from here.

Listening passage:
Mai moved to Ha Noi two years ago. At first, she found city life very different from her hometown. The streets were always busy and crowded. However, she soon discovered the advantages of city life. The public transport system is excellent. She can easily get around by bus or metro. There are also many parks where she can relax. Mai says the more she lives in Ha Noi, the more she loves it.
Comprehension questions:

- What did she find about the streets? → They were always busy and crowded.
- What is excellent in Ha Noi? → The public transport system.
