11. Useful Expressions for Giving Directions and Describing Traffic

Giving Directions (Chỉ đường)

  • Go straight - Đi thẳng
  • Turn left / Turn right - Rẽ trái / Rẽ phải
  • Cross the street / road - Băng qua đường
  • Go along the street - Đi dọc theo phố

Dialogue between a tourist and Minh

Tourist: Excuse me, can you help me? I'm looking for the train station.

Minh: Sure! The train station is not far from here. Go straight along this street for about 500 meters.

Tourist: OK, go straight. Then what?

Minh: Turn left at the traffic lights. You will see a big supermarket on your right. Go past it, and the train station is on your left.

Tourist: Thank you very much. Is the traffic usually busy here?

Minh: Yes, it's quite heavy during rush hour. Be careful when crossing the street. Use the zebra crossing.

Tourist: I will. Thanks for your help!

Minh: You're welcome. Have a safe trip!
