Asking about a country:

Talking about a country:

Listening to a conversation between two friends:
Anna: Have you been to any English-speaking countries?
Ben: Yes, I've been to the UK. I visited London last summer.
Anna: That's cool! What's London famous for?
Ben: It's famous for Big Ben, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace. People there speak English with a British accent.
Anna: What about the food? Did you try any traditional dishes?
Ben: Yes, I tried fish and chips. It was delicious! I'd like to visit again someday.
Anna: I'd like to visit Australia. I want to see kangaroos and the beautiful beaches.
Ben: That sounds like a great plan! Maybe I'll join you.

Practice with a partner:
Student A: You want to visit an English-speaking country. Ask Student B about the country's capital, famous places, language, and food.
Student B: Choose one English-speaking country (the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or Ireland). Answer Student A's questions using the expressions above.
