Asking about people:

  • What does he/she look like?
  • What is he/she like?
  • What is he/she doing?
  • How old is he/she?

Describing people:

  • He/She is tall/short/slim.
  • He/She has long/short hair.
  • He/She is kind/funny/friendly.
  • He/She is V-ing now.

A: Describing a friend

Anna: Who is that boy over there?

Tom: That's Minh. He's my best friend.

Anna: What does he look like?

Tom: He's short and slim. He has short black hair and a round face. He wears glasses.

Anna: What is he like?

Tom: He's very clever and funny. He always tells interesting stories.

Anna: What's he doing now?

Tom: He's talking to our teacher. He's asking about the homework.
