Định nghĩa:

• Three-word phrasal verbs = Verb + Particle + Preposition
• Ví dụ: look forward to, come up with, get on with
• Không thể tách rời các thành phần
• Có nghĩa khác với nghĩa gốc của động từ

1. LOOK FORWARD TO (mong chờ):

• Structure: look forward to + V-ing/noun
• Ex: I look forward to hearing from you.
• Ex: We look forward to the meeting.

2. COME UP WITH (nghĩ ra):

• Structure: come up with + noun (idea, solution, plan)
• Ex: She came up with a brilliant idea.
• Ex: Can you come up with a solution?

3. GET ON WITH (hòa hợp với):

• Structure: get on with + person
• Ex: I get on with my colleagues.
• Ex: Do you get on with your boss?

4. CATCH UP WITH (theo kịp):

• Structure: catch up with + person/thing
• Ex: I need to catch up with my work.
• Ex: Let's catch up with old friends.

5. KEEP UP WITH (theo kịp, duy trì):

• Structure: keep up with + person/thing/changes
• Ex: Keep up with technology trends.
• Ex: I can't keep up with the pace.

6. PUT UP WITH (chịu đựng):

• Structure: put up with + noun/V-ing
• Ex: I can't put up with the noise.
• Ex: She puts up with difficult customers.

7. RUN OUT OF (cạn kiệt):

• Structure: run out of + noun
• Ex: We ran out of time.
• Ex: Don't run out of patience.

8. LOOK UP TO (ngưỡng mộ):

• Structure: look up to + person
• Ex: I look up to my mentor.
• Ex: Children look up to their parents.

9. FACE UP TO (đối mặt với):

• Structure: face up to + problem/reality/fact
• Ex: Face up to your mistakes.
• Ex: We must face up to the challenge.

10. LIVE UP TO (đáp ứng kỳ vọng):

• Structure: live up to + expectations/standards/reputation
• Ex: Live up to your potential.
• Ex: The product lived up to expectations.

11. MAKE UP FOR (bù đắp):

• Structure: make up for + loss/mistake/time
• Ex: Make up for lost time.
• Ex: How can I make up for my mistake?

1. Không thể tách rời:

• ✓ I look forward to meeting you.
• ✗ I look you forward to meeting.

2. Giới từ cuối cùng:

• Sau 'to': look forward to, look up to, face up to, live up to
• Sau 'with': come up with, get on with, catch up with, keep up with, put up with
• Sau 'of': run out of
• Sau 'for': make up for

3. Động từ sau giới từ:

• Nếu có động từ sau, phải thêm -ing
• Ex: I look forward to working with you. (NOT: to work)
• Ex: She came up with solving the problem. (nếu dùng động từ)
