Report on Reducing Waste at a School Event

Introduction

This report considers how our school could reduce waste at its next cultural event. The situation described here is a planning example, not the result of an actual survey.

Problems

Single-use decorations may be thrown away immediately after the event. Visitors may also find it difficult to sort rubbish if collection points have unclear signs. In addition, buying too much food could create avoidable leftovers.

Solutions

First, each class should design decorations that can be stored and used again. A named team should be responsible for collecting them. Second, organisers should check local collection arrangements before choosing bin labels. Clear examples of accepted materials would help visitors use the bins correctly. Finally, food providers should estimate demand in advance and review orders before the event. Volunteers could record what remains so that future planning improves.

Conclusion

These measures would connect greener choices with clear responsibilities. After the event, the organising team should review the amount and types of waste it actually records. This would show which ideas worked and which need improvement, rather than relying only on positive impressions.
