Định nghĩa: Phrasal verbs là động từ kết hợp với giới từ hoặc trạng từ tạo thành nghĩa mới.

1. Common Phrasal Verbs về môi trường:

• turn off: tắt (đèn, thiết bị)
• Ex: Turn off the lights when you leave.
• turn on: bật
• Ex: Don't turn on the air conditioner unnecessarily.
• cut down on: cắt giảm
• Ex: We should cut down on plastic use.
• give up: từ bỏ
• Ex: Give up single-use plastic bags.
• pick up: nhặt lên
• Ex: Pick up litter in the park.
• throw away: vứt bỏ
• Ex: Don't throw away recyclable materials.
• run out of: hết, cạn kiệt
• Ex: We're running out of natural resources.
• come up with: nghĩ ra
• Ex: Scientists came up with new solutions.

2. Vị trí của Object (tân ngữ):

• Separable phrasal verbs: có thể tách rời
• Ex: Turn off the light = Turn the light off
• Ex: Pick up litter = Pick litter up
• Với đại từ: phải đặt giữa động từ và giới từ
• Ex: Turn it off (NOT: Turn off it)
• Ex: Pick them up (NOT: Pick up them)
• Inseparable phrasal verbs: không thể tách rời
• Ex: We must look after the environment. (NOT: look the environment after)
• Ex: She came up with a great idea. (NOT: came a great idea up with)

1. Cách dùng WHICH:

• Thay thế cho danh từ chỉ vật, sự việc
• Ex: Solar panels, which convert sunlight to energy, are eco-friendly.
• Ex: Recycling is a process which helps reduce waste.

2. Defining Relative Clauses (Mệnh đề quan hệ xác định):

• Cung cấp thông tin cần thiết để xác định danh từ
• Không có dấu phẩy
• Ex: The energy which comes from the sun is renewable.
• Ex: Products which are biodegradable are better for the environment.

3. Non-defining Relative Clauses (Mệnh đề quan hệ không xác định):

• Cung cấp thông tin bổ sung, không cần thiết
• Có dấu phẩy ngăn cách
• Ex: Solar energy, which is renewable, is becoming more popular.
• Ex: Plastic bags, which take hundreds of years to decompose, harm the environment.

4. WHICH thay thế cả mệnh đề:

• WHICH có thể thay thế cho cả câu/ý trước đó
• Ex: He recycles all his waste, which is very responsible. (which = việc anh ấy tái chế)
• Ex: They installed solar panels, which reduced their electricity bills. (which = việc lắp tấm pin)

5. Preposition + WHICH:

• Giới từ có thể đứng trước WHICH
• Ex: The problem about which we are talking is serious.
• Ex: The solution in which we are interested is renewable energy.
• Hoặc đặt giới từ ở cuối (thông dụng hơn):
• Ex: The problem which we are talking about is serious.
