Write an opinion essay (180–200 words) about the effects of international festivals on young people in Viet Nam.

I believe that learning about international festivals can benefit young people in Viet Nam when the activities encourage understanding rather than simple imitation. First, festivals offer a practical reason to explore another culture. Students preparing a classroom display can learn why a celebration matters and compare it with an event in their own community. This makes cultural differences easier to discuss respectfully. Second, planning an event together can develop communication and teamwork. For example, a group might explain a tradition in English and answer questions from classmates. However, there are also possible drawbacks. If an activity focuses only on buying decorations or copying online trends, students may learn little about its meaning. Some may also assume that a popular international event is more valuable than local traditions. Schools can address these concerns by asking students to research reliable sources and include comparisons with Vietnamese experiences. Participants should be free to ask questions and explain their own viewpoints. In conclusion, international festivals are useful learning opportunities when they are approached thoughtfully. They can broaden young people’s perspectives while also helping them reflect on and appreciate their own cultural heritage.
