Peer pressure is not always easy to recognise. A student may agree to an activity because everyone else seems enthusiastic, even when the activity conflicts with personal values. In a class discussion, learners practise responding to fictional situations. One example involves sharing an embarrassing photograph without permission. Instead of joining in, a student can say that the person deserves privacy and suggest another activity. The teacher explains that disagreeing calmly is a skill that improves with practice. The class also identifies trusted adults who can offer support when a situation becomes difficult. Nobody is required to describe a personal experience. The aim is to build respectful choices and helpful responses, not to blame students for finding pressure hard to resist.
