Write an article (120–150 words) about the pros and cons of self-study.

Self-study gives learners more control over their time and goals. They can spend longer on a difficult point and choose activities that match their interests. For example, a student who enjoys music can collect useful expressions from a song and practise them in new sentences. However, studying alone can also be challenging. Without feedback, a learner may repeat a mistake or misunderstand an explanation. It is also easy to create an unrealistic timetable and become discouraged. To make self-study effective, students should set small goals, check their understanding and ask for support when necessary. A short discussion with a teacher or classmate can help them decide what to practise next. In my view, self-study works best when independence is combined with reflection and useful feedback.
